The Bonham’s Supercar sale in Cheserex, Switzerland saw a 1993 Porsche 964 Turbo Leichtbau sell for $1,154,452 versus an estimate price of $1 million to $1.3 million. This special lightweight (leichtbau) continues to demonstrate the strength of the collector car market for one-of-a-kind models.

Two other Porsches were on the block that would be classified as Supercars were the 1995 993 Carrera RS Clubsport and the 1996 993 GT2 Evo. The RS Clubsport sold in estimate for $340,563 while the GT2 Evo was reported sold but the price has not been reported yet.

Porsche 930 Turbo prices have been soft at recent auctions but the 930 Turbo Targa featured by Bonhams achieved a strong price of $225,118 due to the uniqueness and limited number of Targa Turbos produced.
The more refined Porsche air-cooled classics continue to achieve strong sales prices as evidenced by the 1991 Porsche 964 C2 that was sold for $90,047.

Notable at the auction though not a Porsche was a world record set for an ultra-rare Lamborghini Veneno that sold for $8,292,434. This is a world record for a Lamborghini. It is one of only nine roadsters that were produced.

It is interesting to note that this collection of Supercars represents a fleet of cars seized by Swiss authorities in a money-laundering investigation involving the son of the leader of Equatorial Guinea.
Bonham’s is stating that the auction was a 100% sell-through rate.
