I bought this car last June from the second owner who purchased it in 1987 in Englewood, Colorado. My 911 had 61,400 documented miles. It is a grey market car imported into Houston in February 1985 This is a cautionary tale about buying a grey market car from an out of state buyer. As a ROW car, there were some challenges getting the smog clearance done in California. and in redoing some of the importer's bad conversion work. The car came with a Colorado smog clearance but it failed here. A new cat and some work got it through. Here cars without an OBD have to be tested on rollers at 25 and 35 MPH; it is a strict and expensive test. The hits kept coming. You can imagine my surprise when found out I couldn't put gas in the car. The importer welded in a restrictor bar deep in the filler neck. I guess the nozzles at the pumps in Colorado are different. A used filler neck solved that problem. Some emissions plumbing was also strange and had to be reworked into order to solve a fuel smell in the cabin. Here is the best part. Five months after paying my fees, the DMV still has not issued me plates. My registration applicatin s now being reviewed by the Techical Compliance section in Sacramento. Since the European ZZZ VIN was not in the DMV's datatbase, the registration process is now pushing six months. I am able to use the car as I have a temporary permit. (I am on my third one) In spite of the bumps in the road so far, love having the car, my 6th air-cooled Porsche and third impact bumper 911. Stay tuned.

Euro Carrera tribute with ducktail and Fuchs wheels plus a rebuilt and upgraded engine and transmission. RS-stye door panels, a 917-style wooden shift knob, a MOMO Prototipo steering wheel, and GTS Classics Monte Carlo seats. Important for Naples, FL homebase: A/C has been recently overhauled and upgraded with a complete RennAire system. The odometer was replaced and the actual mileage is unknown. The factory 3.0L flat-six engine has been previously rebuilt and fitted with upgraded head studs, Carrera chain tensioners, and a new Billy Boat exhaust system. The 5-speed manual gearbox has also been rebuilt and paired with new shifter cables as well as a lightweight aluminum clutch kit. An extensive amount of maintenance has been carried out since 2010 as detailed in the invoices provided in the photo gallery. Work carried out by Planet 9Eleven in 2021 includes the installation of an upgraded oil cooler kit, a new factory airbox and pop-off valve, rebuilt rear axles, new stainless steel braided brake lines, a valve adjustment, and new valve cover gaskets. This car can be seen at Paradise Region Gruppe events and Cars & Coffee 239 in Naples, FL. I hope to bring it up to NC soon for Air Brigade & Appalachian PCA events!
